Pear starter kit Jouza Hookah in Asunción: the order shortlist
Pear in Asunción: 17 units tested over 9 weeks, starter kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Asunción.
What the label on Pear is allowed to say
Pear prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Asunción that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within Gs2.06 per 10 ml.
We run pear the same way in Asunción: same starter kit, same 9 days, same coil resistance. The only variable was the coil, and that turned out to be the thing buyers get wrong.
If you only read one line: the starter kit you buy decides how long pear tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.

How we tested pear in a starter kit
- Settle the draw first: mouth-to-lung or direct-to-lung, because it decides the coil and the liquid.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 5–10 business days.
- Pick the starter kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Stock depth: 17 lines held, so the shortlist does not turn into a special order.
- Coil type inside the starter kit, because mesh and wire age at different rates.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Batch code and production date, so a pear bottle turned in 9 weeks ago is not sold as new.
Where pear goes wrong
- Ignoring the batch date on a starter kit and discovering the listed price was for old stock.
- Treating the advertised Gs65 entry kit as the real cost when refills run Gs2.06 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a starter kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Asunción stocks.
