Caramel in Asunción: 8 units tested over 5 weeks, pod kit formats, priced per 10 ml for Asunción.
Ordering Jouza Hookah to Asunción: the practical version
Caramel prices move with import duty more than with brand. In Asunción that means the entry option and the premium option can close to within Gs2.29 per 10 ml.
A caramel pod kit from the discounted options in Asunción costs about Gs2.29 per 10 ml once delivery is counted. That number decides whether the habit survives the first month, not the sticker price.
If you only read one line: the pod kit you buy decides how long caramel tastes right, and the coil inside it decides how long that is.
What a caramel pod kit really costs in Asunción
The honest read on caramel: 8 units through the same routine over 5 weeks, and the difference between a good batch and a bad one came down to batch age, not the sticker price.
How we tested caramel in a pod kit
- Choose strength against the ceiling in Paraguay, which is the local legal limit for retail here.
- Order before 14:00 so the parcel leaves the same day and lands inside 5–10 business days.
- Pick the pod kit that fits the device already on your desk, not the one on the headline page.
- Spare parts availability for pod kit in Asunción, since tanks and pods go first.
- Clear PG/VG ratio on the label, which predicts throat hit more accurately than strength.
- Child-resistant cap and tamper band on every caramel bottle shipped into Asunción.
- The landed price per 10 ml after 5–10 business days, which is the only number worth comparing.
Where caramel goes wrong
- Mixing caramel with a coil rated for a different wattage, which dulls the flavour and drains liquid faster.
- Treating the advertised Gs44 entry kit as the real cost when refills run Gs2.29 per 10 ml.
- Chasing a discount on a pod kit that then needs an adapter nobody in Asunción stocks.

Frequently asked questions
Why does caramel taste burnt?
Almost always the coil, not the liquid. On the pod kit units we ran, a coil past 6 days turned the caramel blend itself harsh.
Is buying in bulk actually cheaper?
Not automatically. On caramel the budget price and the premium price can sit within Gs2.29 per 10 ml once 5–10 business days is counted.
How long does caramel in a pod kit last?
In Asunción we measured 5 to 8 days per unit depending on the coil. The bottle outlasts the coil, so the coil is what you replace.
